Hi all. Been a while since I had my two cents. From what I read, if they split tacks at the start, they can be up to 10 miles separation. The race might be better viewed on google earth. Pete

Quick fellas, we need the 'woman whisperer!'
SeaWay wrote: Glug wrote: Hi all
Many would remember back in 2007 when WA sailors filled the Seaview to the rafters to watch one of the best AC's in history.
Well the AC's back and this time its a going to ge a debacle with DOG tri v the cat.
We have again sorted the Seaview pub to host the nights starting MONDAY NIGHT.
With nobody expecting the thing would actually go ahead, everyone's playing catch up. My concern is whether it will get programed on FOX3 like last time, or if we have to set up livestreaming.
Can anyone with FOX sports confirm the programing?
Theres some conjecture re the 10am Valencia start time. I beleive that means 5pm local time?
They need to know approximate numbers. Please reply if you plan to attend.
Put me down as a maybe...
Maybe I'll be in town
Maybe I'll get a leave pass
Maybe I'll lay down on the couch and watch it at home (unlikely, bloody sex and the city, or cold case, or some other crap that the missus wants to watch will be on!)
Cheers

Ok its on like Donkey Kong.
Fox 3 has now got it on their online program guide!
Did I miss it yesterday? Did they just change it? Was it my email of complaint??
Either way its on at the Seaview/ Program guide says 7pm, which I assume is EST DS?? So that would mean 4pm Monday??? Looks like everyone needs to organise "meetings" in fremantle.

I'd love someone with Foxtel to set me straight on their scheduled times. I cant find anything on their site re what the times mean.
Starts at 10am Valencia time (+1) Which is 5pm Perth time (+8) Fox has it starting at 7pm, which I assume is Eastern Daylight savings time??
Which means 4pm Perth time.
Is there an hour of commentary pre start?

Your not wrong.
My prediction?
Once you get over the size of the boats and the speeds they're doing - The races will be booooooooooooring.

Correct
Eurosport had live coverage from 5 with a 10 minute pre-show, so I guess FS3 is giving some detailed history... If you're there by 5 it should be all good tho

Whilst we're on the subject of AC this is not off thread, well maybe just a little bit but it is related since Down Under was the warsong for KA6 in 83. Kookaburra riff rip-off could cost Men at Work millions Story _link_ here - http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2010/02/04/2809848.htm
